Mr.Free è un MC americano e The Misanthropist è un beatmaker svedese, insieme hanno unito le forze e hanno pubblicato "The Edge", un album di 10 tracce dal sapore "golden age".

Mr Free is an emcee originally from New York currently residing in the bay area, California. He has
previously released the albums Writes of Passage and Lay-Up Lines: The Mixtape. In addition to The
Edge he has also initiated a live band project in 2010.

The Misanthropist is a producer from Stockholm, Sweden who released the producer album Stocklyn
Retrospective in 2008 featuring artists such as Royce da 5’9, Masta Ace, Termanology, Trife da God and
many more.

On The Edge they join forces to bring you an album inspired by the classic boom bap sound but in the
year of 2011. Raw and melodious beats by The Misanthropist are combined with the powerful flow and
versatile lyrics of Mr Free.

Nastyface - Nice Catch/Gorgonzola

Oggi due post dedicati ad un MC/Producer statunitense assolutamente fuori dagli schemi. Lui si chiama Nastyface e nel giro di un mese ha fatto uscire due lavori: il primo è Nice Catch, un pezzo rappato e undici strumentali molto brevi e originali nella struttura e nella scelta dei suoni, quasi al limite dello sperimentale.

Il secondo lavoro porta un nome a noi molto conosciuto e decisamente anomalo per un lavoro discografico: "Gorgonzola" (!); qui ci sono 17 pezzi altrettanto brevi con pochissimi interventi vocali e forse il tutto è addirittura più ostico al primo ascolto. Graffiante ed originale senza dubbio, da ascoltare con cautela.

Tarik Sabar - The Key

Penso sia uno dei primissimi casi di disco allegato ad un concorso enigmistico (!!!): il nuovo lavoro strumentale di Tarik Sabar è un ottimo concentrato di beats, soul e funk e in più c'è la possibilità di vincere qualcosina...il disco è in vendita dal suo Bandcamp, in più trovate tutte le info per il concorso allegato!

Born in southern Louisiana, Tarik Sabar was raised in a house filled with both art and music. Even as a young child, he became aware of a need for creative outlet. Back then, two pencils, a few books and pot covers from the kitchen was all that was necessary for Tarik to express the drum patterns within.

Tarik's drive to create music and re-arrange sounds was refueled in his preteen years, when he received a General Electric dual-cassette recorder as a gift from his mother. For hours at a time he would stay in his bedroom with this simple device, creating mixes and loops using the Pause and Rewind buttons.

Some years later, Tarik's love for listening to and creating music has only increased. He puts much concentration into sculpting soulful tunes and arrangements, using calculated directions and deliberate syncopations. Not one to consciously try to sound "different", Tarik Sabar both maintains his unique ways and acknowledges his many influences from past and present.
